Drawing Attempt: Akari-chan

I guess it's a matter of time before I use my new wacom to do anime-related stuff eh? In this case, it's around 5 hours :P

Long time ago, Master Sanyen once told me that to train oneself for drawing, one must not trace over the lines, instead one must refer to a source in a different place then draw on an empty piece of paper. So that's what I did.

I drew this with an Aria manga in one hand and the pen in the other. This is like the most times I ever pressed Ctrl-Z in my entire life. Or Ctrl-Alt-Z for that matter.

Then for consistency sake, I downloaded a few Aria pics off the Internet and picked the color. And voila! Let me know what you guys think. Come on now, let it out. I know there's a lot of aggression building up in your artistic mind :)

In other news, damn it's getting cold. Some frost-resistance armour would be nice right now.

nice pic wei. :) looks like your observation skills are gud. Some nice little touches on the clothes there.

Keep everything loose. :) Never go into the details until the later stage. Just scratch some rough lines around and start molding your figure as you go along.

And copying art is great fun & good exercise. But keep in mind that every artist has his own method of covering up his mistakes (yes, even Tony Taka), so you're not learning much if you follow their cover-ups. To better yourself in art, you have to learn from life drawing. Learn the rules first and then you can bend them to your liking. :)

Anyway it's good to see you learning a new hobby. You'll be surprised at how much you'll improve if you keep drawing everyday. And don't forget what I always say.... every art is charming in its own way! A is no better than B. ^_____^
